Can't speak to every property owned by MBG but the property I lived at engaged in some deceptive business practices that cost me $100s in fees post moving out. All I can say is read the fine print of the rental and move out agreements if you stay at an MBG property.

Building I lived in for a number of years was purchased and became managed by mbg. As soon as they took ownership, rent was increased $100/mo (a nearly 15percent increase) with the promise of a new kitchen.. Just after that, they had an inspection where I had a large number of items that needed attention. Was told they understood and would be putting together a work order. Fast forward to now, 9 months later, i still have mold in my bathroom, ac is still broken and anything else i had mentioned wasnt yet done. Something as simple as my reserved parking being blocked by their construction dumpster would not be fixed or replaced. They also now want to raise rent yet again. This time $200/mo or another 25percent. Mind you I have not gotten any kitchen renovations and despite calling nearly weekly I wasn't able to get any repairs made. When asked why rent was increasing so much it was stated they are simply meeting market average. When I pointed out the quality of the apartment was well below market average the only response was "we are not charging you more for the same place". In reality that's exactly what they were trying to do. When asked if adjustment could be made to the rent until renovations were complete I was told I "don't need to resign the lease" and to find a new place. After 5 years in this wonderful building, it has become unbearable with this management company in only 10 months. Forcing everyone that relied on affordable housing to be pushed out.

Chris Cooper, one of the owners of MBG, was phenomenal our entire stay on West 70th Street. We were able to rely on him for any issues that we ran into, which wasn’t many. He was ALWAYS available via cellphone or email whenever we needed him. I would highly recommend renting from them!

Although we did not choose to rent through MGB, I had the most positive and helpful experience thanks to Jackie Busse. She helped us with our search by answering MANY questions I had about the process since I was a first time renter. There are so many great things I could say about this company but was astounded by the great service and attentiveness I received from Jackie. Would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to rent.

I stayed at one of Chris' rental properties short-term, and it was an all around positive experience. Whenever I reached out, I got a response the same day. Chris was helpful and even came to the property after hours and on the weekend! Would definitely recommend checking out MBG's properties if you are looking for a new place!
