Just moved out of some apartments manager by LSI and here's the honest truth.

The apartments aren't bad (ESPECIALLY for the price), parking lot always plowed, grass taken care of, and evrything works, though a little outdated, it was nice. It was the first safe home my kids and I had after getting out of a bad situation. The first place I ever payed for on my own. It wasn't anything fancy, bit it was affordable and it was hime.
The people in the new richmond office were amazing!
They really helped out and communicated well when I reached out.

I gave a $720 deposit to LSI holdings. I found a different rental, and they are absolutely refusing to refund my money.
They have gone no contact.
There was a lot of communication when they took my money, now nothing.
Sad thing is, I'm a single dad with two kids and I needed somewhere to live desperately.
Scammers.

A lot of people have had a negative experience but mine was wonderful! I rented a townhome for two years and have no complaints. I had two maintenance requests in the time I rented and they were resolved in 24 hours. I had my ESA dogs there and I never was questioned and they followed all the laws for that. My water heater went out and I had a brand new one installed within two days. My dishwasher sensor wasn’t working for me and he got it fixed immediately. I paid my rent usually early every month, when I was late they were understanding. Any questions I had, Montana was wonderful and acknowledgeable. I got my full deposit back too before the mandatory 21 days post move out date. My advice is- if a light bulb is burnt out, spend the $5 and replace it yourself. Any big requests email or call them. When you move out spend time cleaning it throughly and if you’re like me; clean weekly so it’s not a big job at the time of move out. My mom was a property manager for over a decade and a lot of complaints from tenants are due to miscommunication or laziness from tenant. I would recommend them!

LSI has been fairly good to us. It was a little rough getting moved with poor communication
On their end.
But we are very Unhappy with The person who is supposed to Mow our yard here at The Villas in Somerset. 3 times he has come and mowed the street side but does not do ours towards the back.We cherish our place and the yard so we take care of it, but we were told the grass was taken care of by LSI. Very disappointed ?

I should have read all these reviews before applying! I was very adamant that I have over a 745 credit score and didn't want to pull my credit for no chance. I was reassured so I applied. I was pre approved for an apartment filled out the even longer application running from library to library as a fax wasn't working at one and the emails weren't going through at another. After several drives and money wasted at my expense to get everything together and sent I was told "you make too much money." They said I am at $57,000 as I work full time as a bus driver. When I called back to explain that no I work part time (17 hrs a week) and I worked an extra hour and a half one week as I drove a field trip they counted it as "overtime" when in reality it was actually only 18 1/2 hours for that week not 41 1/2! This was summer and we know it isn't as easy to get ahold of staff at a school to "prove myself." Even thought the check and months worths of others were in her hand showing that it infact was not overtime hours. Some simple math and looking at the gross pay would have showed that! When I tried to explain this she didn't want to hear any of it and instead argued and over talked because she didnt understand basic math. I then had HR send her a check stub that shows total income for the year and HR couldn't fathom how she would come up with that amount. I then got an email back "did we need this for something?" Or something along those lines. I replied yes and explained what it was. The response was "your application is expired and only valid for a month." Any other form of housing I know for fact keeps those a lot longer. Also why would I apply a second time? So I can have my credit drop again for nothing? I pride myself on my score being what it is. Please consider actually having someone staffed that is open to listening and has reading comprehension and basic math skills. To lose an apartment because a thorough job was not done is pretty crappy. I even thought about applying a second time long before this review but I am not going to have my credit pulled again for nothing. (Side note: I also do not get child support but in the event I leave the relationship I was told I need to put down an anticipated amount.) Umm....there's never even been a court date EVER as we have always lived together. That's like predicting the lottery numbers if I knew the future I probably wouldn't be applying for an apartment.)‍♀️

Can not get anyone to respond to anything. Doesn’t matter if you show up to the building, call, or email. UPDATE: They have gotten better with communication recently, but for 2-3 months it was pretty bad. Even had a hard time paying rent because no one was at the building during regular business hours where we were told we could pay rent. Concerned for if we ever have a safety issue/ something that needs to be fixed in 24 hrs that no one will respond. Also had them just let themselves into our apartment for a building inspection with no warning, happy my roommate was there. They must’ve got complaints, or figured out how to text their tenants because this past time they did give notice. Review is not mine but a family members , she doesn’t have a google account to review and is afraid of retaliation. This is for the right company, will keep updating if things get better or worse. UPDATE 2 Finally had an issue where we needed someone to come out immediately. The maintenance person did come out fairly quick, and did fix our problem but proceeded to use our hand towel to clean up toilet water. (We had to throw it away). Before this (a month or two prior)they left us an email saying we had 5 days to vacate because we hadn’t paid rent. (We had.) I tried calling the New Richmond office and eventually gave up. Ended up calling their Menominee branch instead. I was incredibly stressed out but the office lady in Menominee was phenomenal and was able to sort out the problem. She mirrored my frustration with the lack of communication from the New Richmond office. Finally, we’ve been trying to get things repaired in our apartment since our last inspection in October (where we showed them and told them in person what needed to be fixed) and by calling them but I’ve given up on trying to get these things fixed. As long as they don’t charge me for things that were broken when we moved in I guess I can live with it.

Terrible land lords. Refused to give back the $450 I had in my account and took $600 from my security deposit that was mostly cleaning and things that were damaged before we moved in. Never trust them to do maintenance they left the soft spot in our floor from before we moved in. They have 0 respect or care for the tenants. Save yourself time in the somerset new Richmond area and rent through apple gate

This is my first time renting with LSI. They were extremely easy to work with and were prompt on responses and paperwork. They did a great job working to find me and my two roommates an apartment that was within our budget and a good fit. The payment process is easy and efficient. Overall I have had a great experience with LSI Management in New Richmond.
